YOUR SOUL CANNOT ADMINISTER YOUR SPIRIT 11/24/19

Ive got to put this here as I think on it this morning... I do not want it to slip into my day. “your soul cannot administer your spiritual gifts... only the Holy Spirit’s control can operate the controls of this vehicle” For simple example... if you have a prophetic gift (which we all do or should), then if your soul administrates the use of this the outcome will not produce what God intends... it will become selfish/soulish.. not encouraging and healing (self centered instead of serving).

I told Troy this morning (early) that having a spiritual gift can cause grief or even depression if it is controlled or administered by the mind/soul. It becomes out of order and further away from the ONE WHO gave the gift. If Holy Spirit allows me to "see" something that the world may not recognize, particularly about a person, it is my responsibility to allow Him to direct the how, when and where of revelation because only He knows how it will be received and what it will cause in the person to whom it is intended. If I step out of line and do my thinking with my mind, I might drop it in at a time that could damage both the person and myself. "A right word at the wrong time is a WRONG WORD." 

God help me stand firm and steady as You pour in what You want me to know. Let me hold Your gifts as YOUR GIFTS so that I can respond under the direction of Holy Spirit revelation to a world that is in such need of Hope. Only YOUR wisdom can contain this kind of "power"... certainly not any human heart. Thank You HOLY Father. Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

He "dovetails" me into His perfect Poem... His workmanship!

HE SETS ME UP TO SUCCEED!!!

When I would somehow injured myself, I'd see my dad get out the dreaded RED merthiolate bottle and remind me... "Kate, when it burns real good, that means it's working"!!! I'd scrunch my eyes and turn away waiting for THE BURN!

Sometimes I think people think if its "hard", if it "hurts", if there is "pain" then it means... it's better or it means that this is what is supposed to happen... like "no pain, no gain"... or "do it till it hurts"... sort of toughness. Now I know that sometimes (especially in getting these bodies back in shape, one must push a little to gain a little)... we have to go a little further each day, take the next step, get started now so we can get finished sooner... that kind of thing.

BUT!!!!

I've found, through the years, FOR ME, that when it come to God things, it's more like a finely crafted dovetailed joint.

The experienced carpenter will measure and measure again knowing the fit that needs to be accomplished so that the joint will "slip right in" and hold together for the life of the piece.

I think, for me, that's how God has operated. He works things through me... coaxing and teaching me the way to go so that when it is time to "get it done" (whatever "it" may be... a conversation, a relationship, or even a battle) ... everything just slips into place and holds. It happens because of the "work" already done inside of me BEFORE the event or task is required.

For me, it is like the domino game we used to set up for the kids.... lining dominoes up into wonderful squiggles so that when the first one falls ... all the others follow into perfect sequence. It's not hard... the work has already been done to make success happen easily.

Sometimes when I am deciding if this or that is something that God is asking of me, THIS is a qualifier... "are things just 'falling' into place without my striving or stressing?"

Why is it still surprising??? I've seen it over and over in things that God directs!!! They just fall into order right in front of me!

Again, in my experience, through the years I've learned that if God is in it... most of the time it just "falls into place". No scrunching my eyes or being fearful... just the kind of exhilerating feeling that ... "yep... this is a 'Go'"

That is a great comfort in "knowing what to do and what to choose."

Feeling thankful this morning for the gift of God's fingerprints and footprints throughout my life!

WE ARE HIS "POEMA"... His poem... His workmanship!!!

"For we are God’s handiwork (His poem), created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

CHOOSE WISELY by the SPIRIT WHO lives in you!

CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON!!!

THE MANDATE?

Do not just ask for a "word" 

ASK FOR A SWORD!!! 

A weapon that will have power from the Lord in the hands of HIS OWN, and against which the enemy is defenseless. NO weapons fashioned by the world can stand against those of our God, our Lord, the Warrior who sings and dances over us! 

The Sword of the SPIRIT is mighty to save:)

Don't know if you like espionage shows, but remember how the hero will go to his "weapons stash" or his wall of defense tools?

He/she selects exactly what is right for the job he is doing!

Heard a Word today that struck me!!!

"Get out Your Bible and ask Him for at least one verse to use as a sword..."

The one who said it was asking for prayer for Dorian and the havoc, *which absolutely I agree!! pray for the safety and turning of this hurricane!!!

but I started thinking...

GET OUT YOUR BIBLE AND ASK FOR A SWORD!!!!!

Whatever you or I might be facing right now! Whatever is wreaking havoc in your world (be it emotional or physical)... There is a "weapon" for that!!!

I'd say this... when you ask AND when He gives it... repeat it over and over and over... pray it, say it, repeat! *

SOMETHING IS JUST NOT RIGHT!!!

YES.. there is definitely something wrong... something different! When we moved to the country over 20 years ago, we saw a parking lot with several old pickup trucks, most with gun racks in the back windows. The shotguns for shooting snakes or dove (dove season starts today) were visible in many of those windows. Farmers and ranchers most all had guns handy and visible. When I was in the halls or classrooms of the schools, I NEVER heard an altercation include... "I'm gonna shoot you."... most were more like... "let's handle this after school" and it was with some kind of wrestling or ugly word stuff...most were nipped in the bud by coaches who got wind of the possibility! NEVER were guns even considered for anything other than varmints or hunting season. The only shootings I remember were like the crazy man in the UT bell tower.. or that crazy Manson man... not like today.

Today I am in earshot of a family of responsible gun owners who are laughing together and shooting clays with shotguns getting ready to enjoy dove season and hoping for bacon jalapeño wrapped birds on the grill. I love it that our 2nd amendment rights are there for reasons other than what most people are believing these days. Not for hunting, but for our protection... (remember why it was originally put into our CONSTITUTION??? if you don't know... I'd suggest you research it!)

I'm not really sure what has changed but I do know that guns are not the problem! Something has changed in people!!!

This is not a political post... it is just an observation post.

The recent Midland-Odessa shooting is pretty close to home, and it breaks my heart. There are broken people in this world, and it is not just the ones holding the weapons. It is also the ones USING this tragedy for their own personal agendas.

There is definitely something NOT RIGHT, something that changed!

It is NOT the guns!

It is the people!

God help us!
